Corrie and Strictly Celebs Lust after Manchester Designer

Nadine Merabi is a self-taught seamstress who opened a small boutique 2 years ago that made a huge impact in Manchester City Centre. She originally studied Sports Science then decided to become a fashion designer after watching how to use a sewing machine on You Tube. Her outfits are beautiful and are frequently worn by famous household names including Brooke Vincent and Chelsee Healey at major events, receiving national press!

Merabi’s new line is spectacular, of high quality and her outfits are fit for any party or celebration, especially the glamorous red carpet! For her AW12 collection Nadine has taken inspiration from hand sourced fabrics from the Middle East using her signature style; backless dresses that come with silver, pearls and leaves.

Sophisticated designs, not far off from Alexander McQueen

Merabi uses the same supplier as the legendary Alexander McQueen and one of her favourite fabrics is plain black woven nylon stretch. We can certainly see this material used down the catwalk and how tight fitting the dresses are as some of the models walk slowly and narrowly in their body-skimming couture. As soft classical music plays and elegant evening wear floats past us in whites, lilac toned taupe and soft greys we look on in awe. Lace is used throughout the outfits and a stand out piece has to be a sleeveless lace top, and a maxi skirt gathered in a paper-bag style at the top while a floor length Gatsby inspired dress with white bead fringing was simply divine! Gorgeous tailored jackets were also dropped into the mix, one was worn with a tight tank top and white puffed trousers and the other was draped over the shoulders with a full sleeve lilac lace top and decorative pencil skirt.

Silver Leaves and Pretty Little Things

The most wondrous part of the collection was the shimmering silk dresses that glared in our eyes and were incrusted with Merabi’s infamous silver leaves and pearls. In other designs material crossed over the bust and was held together with choker like neckpieces that was absolutely stunning! Certainly glamorous her line is definitely for one who likes sophistication and the finer things in life. So if you happen to be going to a celebrity hangout, wear a Merabi and you’ll stand out from the crowd with a little twinkle!
