Glass Footwear present Gisele Bündchen’s iPANEMA flip-flops!

Just recently we had the pleasure to attend Glass Footwear press day and here are the news: New flip-flops, great designs and more of Gisele!

Gisele Bündchen’s beach gear

The 5’11” leggy blue-eyed brunette (or blonde – subject to opinion), originally discovered by an agent at McDonalds, has come a long way. Currently listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the “world’s richest supermodel”, Gisele Bündchen continues to indorse her own line of sandals iPANEMA Gisele Bündchen with the footwear company Grendene.

The supermodel and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, Gisele Bündchen began her partnership with iPANEMA in 2002. The 100% Brazilian footwear line was named after a glamorous tropical beach in southern Rio de Janeiro known as iPANEMA. IPANEMA’s sizzling products bearing the signature of the supermodel have been winning consumers all over the world with the most recent Gisele Bündchen collection launch taking place earlier this month (April 6) in Istanbul, Turkey.

Reinvent your summer with Hot Sands and Butterfly Collections!

As iPANEMA grows from strength to strength and claims the status of the most sold Brazilian Flip Flop in the world, the new collections Hot Sands and Butterfly are set to take the globe by storm. Every year a portion of proceeds from the sale of the collection will be used to support ISA’s programme to fight climate change – a charity programme that helps promote awareness about climate change. Not only will you be wearing an uber-trendy flip-flop, but also you will be playing a part in doing some good for the planet.

Butterfly Collection

The butterfly collection is feminine with sandals featuring a delicate lace-like weave of butterflies that compliment the foot. The concept behind this collection is based around the idea of transformation and reinvention – think metamorphosis and butterflies! The same flip-flop can accompany you for breakfast, turn into your best beach buddy during your sun-bathing hours, and then join you on a bar-crawl in the evening. These beach-chic flip flops are designed to suit every beach occasion.

Hot Sands Collection

The sizzling Hot Sands collection is inspired by the people of Brazil, their spirit, optimism, reinvention and warmth, reinterpreted in exotic patterned straps, multiple designs and a vast variety of colours.

Find comfort with iPANEMA flip-flops

The amount of fun you have will often depend on how comfortable you feel. We all know how well bad shoes can spoil an evening of fun, and being on the beach is not different. Comfort, comfort and comfort – a sacred word that often tends to be forgotten or ignored. So here is the thing: the sole of the colourful, fun, cool and stylish iPANEMA Gisele Bündchen flip-flop is made of Air Infused PVC making them very comfortable. IPANEMA’s ‘anatomically’ designed flip-flops with the special shape of the soles to better fit the shape of your foot will give added support and comfort. All the materials used to make these flip-flops are 100% synthetic, making them ideal for vegetarians and are suitable for recycling. They come in gazillions of colours and designs - knock yourself out with choice!

Planning to Visit Ipanema Beach in Brazil?

Ipanema as above, is a fun, chic and colourful Brazilian made sandal and flip flop range literally named after the famous, exotic and sophisticated Ipanema beach in Rio De Janeiro, Brasil. Ipanema beach is very fun and worth visiting.

During the peak months the beach gets busy with locals and visitors alike who love to sunbathe and socialise on this divine strip of white sandy coastline.

The best time to travel to Rio is during the winter months of December to March – that’s Brazil’s summer and thus the peak season in Rio.

Rio’s most notable events - including Reveillon (New Year's Eve) and Carnival - take place during those months, so plan your holiday accordingly. Expect the main city beaches to be crowded when temperatures reach 26 or so Celsius degrees. Carry an umbrella in case it rains.
