Novelty Christmas Jumpers

There used to be a time when novelty Christmas jumpers were relegated to the useless present/ hideous fashion disaster pile. Receiving a novelty Christmas jumper was the stuff of nightmares, and they quickly were bundled to the back of the wardrobe to be forgotten about. Until the following year that is, when your Aunty Muriel insists you wear it again for Christmas dinner.

Funky Christmas Jumpers are back in town!

However, with the current sweater trend sweeping the high street and the catwalks, jumpers adorned with reindeers, elves and Santa Claus are now seen as quirky fashion choices, rather than crazy ones. High street stores such as Topshop and ASOS stock brilliantly garish sweaters, covered in snowmen and snowflakes, which are perfect for donning on Christmas morning. In one deft move, you can combine function and fashion all in one heavily patterned item of warm clothing. Not only this but the trend for charity and thrift store shopping means that you can indulge in this guilty pleasure trend for a very small amount of money, as these stores are rife with everyone else’s unwanted yuletide jumpers. Thus, you can splurge your bank balance on more high-end winter pieces.
