Fashion Mode’s Carlotta Actis Barone

Carlotta Actis Barone’s Japanese Geishas

This season at Carlotta Actis Barone, we were transported into a magical garden as the catwalk came alive with beautiful floral motifs. Orientalism heavily influenced this collection, and Barone sought influence from Japanese Geishas to bring stunning silks, elegant chiffons, intricate floral patterning and some outstanding couture style headpieces, straight to the catwalks of London.

Barone’s sensational detailing

Kimono style dresses with beautiful lace embellished obi belts emulated true Japanese style, while lilac silk dresses with rope–esque trimmings brought an incredibly youthful approach to the collection. Barone added splashes of feminity to her collection by adding large silk bows to the back of coatdresses for an exaggerated yet flirtatious look. But for me, it was the magical injection of Monet style colouring upon the floor length silk dresses and the laced embellished playsuits that made this collection so exciting.

From head to toe:
Carlotta Actis Barone seeds extravagance

Barone adds high drama to the hair

Hair wise, some of the models were adorned with striking fuchsia coloured orchids, while others wore these incredibly extravagant headpieces with crystal embellishment, floral attachments, curtain tie back tassels and clutch bags, which were all attached together in a very romantic yet prolific way.

Barone’s models soak their feet in Eastern beauty

And finally upon the models feet, we see acrylic platform stilettos with ornate Japanese style lilies in the colours of off white and bright pink. These flowers enhanced the ankles of the models, bringing quintessential Eastern beauty and transforming it into a decorative piece of modern art.
