Dear Doctor Pole Paul Pawl,
Just recently I was made aware that I am dislipsic. I often slur my words and this comes on especially strong if I had a few (alcoholic) drinks. Things can get really bad. How can I get rid of it?
Yours truly,
John Lippy
Dear John,
Dislipsia can seem like a terrible thing. It is a bit like dyslexia but it is predominantly to do with the movement of your lips, hence DisLIPsia.
There are two issues you may need to tackle:
After consuming alcohol, if strange things are happening to your body, it could be a sign of an allergic reaction. You may wish to consult your physician about your alcohol consumption, but the general advice would be to stay away from all the things you cannot handle.
Dislipsia is a condition that only recently has been uncovered and therefore it is still not well understood. Although thorough research should eventually be conducted, current observations indicate that apart from intoxication, nervousness or excitement are most likely to trigger off its effects.
The condition is also more likely to appear in individuals who continuously attempt to speak in a foreign language.
Dislipsia is assumed to have contagious properties and the best way to stop it from spreading is to shut up.
Hope this helps.
Yours sincerely,
Dr. P.P.P.
